thumbs up!

Right now I'm trying to correct my sleep pattern (it's WAAAAAAAY off).

Don't work out at night; they say that keeps you up.

Don't watch Scarlett Johanssen movies at night; they say that keeps you up, too.

Quite chuffed with myself in 2018 so far. After a very stressful 2017, which led to unhealthy eating habits and a lack of exercise, I have been on fire so far. My treadmill has been dusted down and used for 30 minutes every day. I aim to complete the 1000 mile challenge by walking a minimum of 3.2 miles every day (I don't include the treadmill miles in this), I have been doing cardio by using YouTube videos (Bodyproject has been excellent) and I have taken up fencing (the sport, not putting fences up biggrin ). I have already lost nearly a stone and feel much fitter. Even if I just keep a couple of things up this year it will be a vast improvement on last year.

Promised myself to stop eating all that bread and change my morning routine...im still doing it since beginnen of the year. Eating 3 portions of cottage cheese every day with fruit, nuts and oatmeal.

Foodprep every third day (rise, fish, vegatables)

feeling great.

Only drink too much in the weekends, gotta change that.

The Old Man (me) turned 59 yesterday. For my birthday, I got a cold! The good news is that due to my 100 push-ups a day routine, the cold really only lasted a day and a half. So, I went to the gym today and...

...pushed up 306! Woo Hoo! The Old Man can still get it up! <Insert corny joke here>

So, another year, another 306. Hope I can make it to 60 and still get it up. <Insert another corny joke here>

The best part of the day though, was this young dude who was trying to bench 225 next to me. He was in trouble and didn't quite get the bar back to the top rack. I told him I'd spot for him if he needed it, and that he was about 1/2 inch from making it back to the top row. I told him that if he wanted to do another set with me spotting, I guaranteed he'd do the lift.

He did it! And it was a new personal record for him - first time to bench 225. I felt better about helping that guy than I did about my lift. It was a great day - I hope all the rest of the days of Year 59 And Counting are this much fun!

The pescatarian thing is going fine, no major meat cravings even when around bacon. I've opted for various forms of Tai Chi as opposed to Yoga, gotta get my balance back.
