TRUMP ORDERED MUELLER FIRED IN JUNE - WH COUNSEL THREATENED TO QUIT

https://www.yahoo.com/new...itics.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Donald Trump ordered the firing of special counsel Robert Mueller last June, but he backed off the order after White House lawyer Don McGahn threatened to resign, according to a report Thursday in The New York Times.

The newspaper reports that Trump demanded Mueller's firing just weeks after the special counsel was first appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

McGahn said he would not deliver the order to the Justice Department, according to The Times, which cites four people familiar with the request by the president.

I heart it. HA HA HA HA HA....

Of course he is calling it "fake news" which ony fuels reporters to go deeper and deeper into that sive of a WH and unocover even more inappropriate behavior, which of course leads to obstuction behavior... Mueller has talked to so many people and who knows what else was said?!

According to the Times report, which cited "four people told of the matter," Trump claimed that Mueller had three conflicts of interest that disqualified him from overseeing the investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials.

--

NON STORY NON EVENT.

Nothing new. Mueller's credability has always been in question.

Yes, Trump's plan to fire him did not happen because McGhan threatened to quit if he did nod

You tell me why this SOURCE would not go directly to Mueller with the info instead of going directly to the NYT?

Who said they didn't go to Mueller? I'm sure Mueller has known all along that Trump wants him gone.

Did you know that reporter Bob Woodward was assigned the break-in of the Democratic headquarters at the Watergate Hotel... hmmm where did that lead I wonder....

Try again... on second thought, actually don't. This is embarrassingly easy.

Sure he does. And he has loads of testimony that we do not know about. If Trump denies it he is lying. If he admits it... could be obstruction.

biggrin

What are you talking about? I stated an investigation is going on and suposedly the people who are part of the investigation gave an interview to the NYT. That should be enough for even Mueller to want the NYT sources.

The problem with that theory is firing Mueller would not stop the investigation.

Trump could have even fired Mueller and it would not proven "obstruction" because the investigation would have continued. As far as the investigation it is over collusion with Russia. My prediction is they will not find any collusion but smaller stuff related to finances by some of the people questioned.

There is no problem with the theory - you cannot direct that your WH counsel fire the person who (appointed by the Justice Department) is investigating people in your adminsitration and your campaign. *THAT* is obstructing justice. If Mueller runs across his other mis-doings while investigating for Russian collusion - that does not mean they cannot charge him or hold him responsible. biggrin

dancing jig

Firing Comey... trying to fire Mueller... what *IS* Trump so afriad of I wonder? If there is nothing there then he should just relax and let it continue unhindered.
