I've never heard of Fred Meyer. To me, Kroger is just Kroger, a grocery store, and Kroger the grocery store has never carried guns or ammo.

So rather than Google it, you just assumed that since YOU have never seen a gun sold at Kroger, then the entire story must be meaningless poppycock.

Sigh.

Yep! And it's not that I have never seen a gun sold at Kroger, it is that there NEVER HAS BEEN A GUN SOLD AT ANY KROGER, ANYWHERE, EVER.

Penny didn't mention Fred Meyer, or a parent company, or a sister store, etc., she just said "Kroger". I don't need to google Kroger to know that Kroger never sold guns.

Had she instead mentioned that Fred Meyer, who is owned by Kroger, would not be selling guns or ammo to those under 21, I would not have commented.

Sigh on that, brightboy! lol

Now, posting an internet conspiracy the day after one of the worst tragedies in our history? That's absolutely repoulsive.

I didn't post an "internet conspiracy" (which isn't against the rules anyway), I posted a video from a local news source of an interview with an eyewitness. Whether she was right or not about a second shooter is irrelevent. And for the record, I do not think there was a second shooter in Parkland, I believe she heard a loud noise that she believed to be gunfire. I do believe there were multiple shooters in Vegas. Report me.

BTW, I didn't report him because I disagreed with him. I reported him because posting that type of bullshit right after 17 kids were gunned down in cold blood was tasteless. At least, in my opinion.

You are free to have and keep your uninformed opinions. I think it's tasteless to accuse a kid who is an eyewitness and survivor of the shooting of maliciously spreading conspiracy theories when the likely reality is that she was simply wrong. You may believe that you did not accuse her, you accused me, but I merely shared a her account, she's the one that said it.

I thought it was trolling at its worst.

As I suspected, you think things like disagreement or sharing things that upset you is "trolling". It's not.

I just realized something. The reports that the cops stood down and would not enter the school to confront the shooter were considered "conspiracy theories" when they were first reported. Later it was revealed that it was indeed a fact. I suppose that until your favorite news source admitted it was true, you would have attacked anyone that dared share the initial reports.

No problem. I was cool with learning something new. As mentioned, I've shopped at Kroger my whole life, but never heard of Fred Meyer before today. Now I have.

I only got snarky about it with Rodeo because he was being snarky to me. peace

I had never heard of them and a search shows none near me... I assumed there was some sister store... like Dick's and Field and Stream... but to be honest it seemed like a joke... like boneless bananas.

Georgia is out of line... I think Delta is being dumb but I expect a government to hold itself to a higher standard than a private company.

i suspect that Delta will sue and win and leave...I would.

yeah and? the issue is Kroger doesn't sell guns but their sister store does. and Not knowing about that sister store is NOT by any reach a lack of being informed. Did you know that Dick's proper has not sold ARs for a while? But their sister store "Field and Stream" does.

And people in states where Kroger is everywhere but Fred Meyer is nowhere are probably scratching their heads because "Kroger", the grocery store, has never carried guns or ammo.

But really now, this has been settled. What's the point in going on about it?

No, you don't. Anyone who lives in an area where there are only Krogers and no Fred Meyers - like me, for instance - would have had the same question when they saw that news report or read your post. But those who live in a factual world - like me, for instance - would have Googled "Kroger guns" in order to understand what the story meant, instead of just screaming it was fake news or something just as uninformed.

That's the difference between some of us.

Oh my goodness! Somebody's triggered over absolutely nothing. lol lol

You googled it. Good for you.

I was hardly "screaming" about it, but whatevs, be all overly dramatic like you like to do. lol

You're right about one thing, Penny doesn't need to be apologetic. I'm sorry to her for my unwarranted snarkiness. I was wrong.

Only, Trump turned on ya.

No, he didn't. All his talk yesterday was nothing more than cover for the GOP senators to say, "Well, we can't do that but let's take it step by step and do the Fix NICS bill". This was a designed strategy to make it look like passing Fix NICS is "doing something" when in fact it is doing nothing.

And then nothing else will get done. Every time sensible Victims Supporters ask for meaningful regulations the response will be, "But we DID do something. We fixed NICS. What else do you want?!?"

Nothing else will change until the next mass shooting, or until we vote out all the Shooters Supporters. Hopefully, the voting out part comes before another mass shooting.

As predicted:

"I had a great meeting tonight with @realDonaldTrump & @VP. We all want safe schools, mental health reform and to keep guns away from dangerous people. POTUS & VPOTUS support the Second Amendment, support strong due process and don’t want gun control." - tweet by Chris Cox, chief NRA lobbyist, after he had dinner with Donald Trump last night

"Good (Great) meeting in the Oval Office tonight with the NRA!" - tweet by Donald J. Trump regarding the same dinner meeting.

I told you it was a headfake. DO NOT BELIEVE FOR ONE SECOND THAT A GOP-CONTROLLED CONGRESS WILL DO ONE SINGLE, SOLITARY THING TO INCREASE GUN REGULATIONS.

That will NEVER happen.

Instead, do as I am: Remind people that the NRA supports shooters; they do not support vicitims. Remind people that the NRA's policies benefit four and only four groups:

Gun manufacturers
Mass shooters
al-Qaeda
ISIS

I had a dinner last night, too. It was with the lady running for the Democratic nomination in my district. If she wins (and she should), she'll go against an NRA Republican for the congressional seat. I told her everything I just listed above.

I told her that it would not go over well in the rural parts of our district, but Republicans in that part were never going to vote for her anyway. But who cares? What we care is about getting out the vote. Despite the fact that we've had Republican representation for a long time, the majority of voters in our district are NOT Republicans.

We don't have a red district. We have a doesn't-vote district. We need things like my message in order to change that.

Be the change you want to see.
