Ian Walters. We made a mistake making a black guy head of RNC.

This wussy I had never heard of. I think he is jealous Michael Steele is so big:

Michael goes at it:

bit misleading title... he seems to say it was a mistake to elect Steele... not a black man. it is a subtle difference so it is not a big deal you missed it...but yeah you missed it.

Anyone for banning the AR15 must be on the side of the criminal as once banned only criminals will have them.

maybe it was so misconstrued to the point where he felt he had to?

based on what you posted your topic title is not accurate.

but do you think that color of one's skin should be used as a factor in making such decisions or should we go based on the content of one's character?

sure he did...he was told "you suck and electing you was a mistake" the only race issue is electing him to begin with.

but again you seem to miss the point of what was said. what was said was they elected him in part because he was black. that was a mistake because he is not qualified.

Do you think Steele did a good job?

we could say electing trump was a mistake, that we let his fame and his reputation for being a good businessman influence our decision. right? based on what know we agree... right? but that would not be a slight against other famous businessmen.

but you are all free to just assume the worst and believe whatever fits into your narrative.

maybe because they have been lied to so much by the DNC that they think Democrats have their best interest at heart?

Maybe because so many on the Right- including your President- have been so blatant in their bigotry, that they have alienated most minorities. I've said this many times but it seems unable to penetrate your thick skull- there are many black and Latino and Asian people- many of who I know personally- who are quite conservative in many of their views. Especially southern Black religious people and Caribbean and African immigrants, and Hispanic Catholics (like Sunny Hostin on the "View "), all of whom would be prime voters for Republicans. But they will say "we're not welcome there ". This feeling is not coming out of thin air. After Charlottesville and your leader's response, you'll be lucky to get any minority's votes besides paid errand boys like Ben Carson...

THAT is more the reason than your borderline racist fantasy that minorities only vote for the Democratic Party because they get "free stuff ". I know that you might find it hard to believe, but not every Black and Hispanic person collects welfare.

Why mention his race at all? Why not just say that you thought he was a bad candidate and leave it at that?

I think Trump is a bad President because he's an idiot, a liar, a sexual predator, a narcissist, and a racist. I don't need to add his race into anything

If Steele- who I highly respect even though we disagree politically- took the comments that way, then I give him his due.

Matt Schlapp of CPAC was torn a new asshole on "The View" this morning. Sunny Hostin particularly roasted him over not speaking out against this statement about Steele.

But then considering that these winners were also at CPAC, why is anyone surprised ?

Well, many are invested in their "opinions ", and will never allow anything to sway them from these positions.

I've said many times, if the Republican Party purged themselves of any vestiges of bigotry, that they could gain substantial Black and Hispanic and Asian support. But they chose otherwise. And post Trump, post Charlottesville, and with comments like this idiot Walters, those chances are dashed
