Ronald Reagan Hologram

What do you think?

I don't like it. And it has nothing to do with party affiliation. It's too soon, I've seen him as an adult and it creeps me out. I had no problem with Liberace, he's an entertainer. Seeing a political figure reduced to entertainment purpose messes with my sensabilties.

is this really any different than the hall of presidents at Disney? Or one of those wax museums? or even showing video clips of someone?

I am torn somewhat. But then again it is just another way to experience history.

Anyone for banning the AR15 must be on the side of the criminal as once banned only criminals will have them.

Holy shit I don't like it. Looks like Alfred E. Neuman. That is the Mad Magazine mascot. I like idea of a Dale Gribble hologram and programming Gribble to give political speeches. I do like robots, holograms but only for good uses.

When will I learn there's only 2 speeds around here. I'm bored. Can this entire thread be removed?

[Well, speaking of voices not being listened to...]

Roy Orbison hologram concert in L.A. invites awe and debate

In the darkened Wiltern Theatre, hundreds of people couldn't wait to see legendary rocker Roy Orbison. A live orchestra pumped up the crowd with a medley of his hits. Old photos of him flashed across a giant screen.

Then, the crooner appeared to rise magically from the stage, wearing his signature light gray suit, black shades and jamming on a red Gibson guitar to his 1960 hit "Only the Lonely." Fans screamed as they quickly positioned their smartphones to record the spectral image.

"This is as good as seeing him in person as you'll ever get," marveled 71-year-old Ray Sadowski, who paid about $200 for a pair of tickets to the Oct. 2 night show.

Meet the man determined to make celebrity holograms a major Hollywood draw

The Greek billionaire was days away from previewing a theater featuring hyper-realistic "hologram concerts" with entertainers both living and dead — but the space was far from complete.

David, however, isn't concerned. For him, all press is good press: "I'm used to lawsuits. It's irritating … [but] its gotten me on the front page of TMZ," he said. "I've engineered the villainous image of myself, because it helps. It's a noisy brand."

Though his style may be his own, David is not the only digital entrepreneur investing in holograms. This fall Eyellusion will launch a tour featuring a digital likeness of rocker Ronnie James Dio performing alongside his living bandmates from Dio. The tour opens in Finland this November and will hit over 80 cities — a first for a show of its kind.
