Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro, and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died. George H. W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41’s life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens.

What is the purpose of your posts? May George HW Bush RIP. The same would be said if any other President died because they are the President. End of conversation.

He's already using it as a way to get out of the G-20 press conference. Teflon Don.

You think Trump was invited before he announced he was going to the funeral?

Trump Will Attend Funeral of President George H. W. Bush, December‎ ‎1‎, ‎2018‎ ‎6‎:‎15‎ ‎AM‎ ‎PST

Bush said about his opposition, they would call each other S.o.B.'s in the press but they would get a budget deal done. One must understand politics and have a thick skin to be President. Many people compared Bush to Hitler as I recall?

Seeing this thread is nothing to do about the President. I can answer this with Bush got it.

Despite bitter family rivalry, Bush wanted Trump at his funeral

Family confidants say the former president wished to put all enmity aside when it came to Trump attending his funeral.

^^ I think it's possible that he was not - not invited. Politico article doesn't exactly say he was invited either.

After a long and varied career in business and politics, President Bush was asked what he felt was his greatest accomplishment in life. Without pause he answered, “That my children still come home.”

Curious then, why is it in Politics & Religion?

I protested Bush in '91 and his son in '05 and have zero respect for anyone in that family.

Besides, it's downright hilarious watching the far-left here praise another far-right warmonger and accusing those that don't of being "right wing trolls". It doesn't get any nuttier than that. lol

Because he was a political figure.

I put it in Politics because he was President of the United States. Isn't that political?

And I wasn't always on the left, I was a staunch repub. Voted for Obama the 2nd time, and voted for Hillary.

IMO the guy was a decent man. He served the country for over 70 years. He was married for over 70 years. Nobody is perfect, and he admits he wasn't even perfect. Nobody said he was perfect.

He was a God fearing, Country loving, family man. Totally opposite of what we have in office now, and I'd take Bush back in a heartbeat.

I agree, especially regarding 41's military service. I never voted for Poppy Bush, and never would, but I can acknowledge that he was a gentleman.

It doesn't seem as if anyone here on the so-called "far left" is praising the Bushs. I vehemently opposed the policies of both father and son, and considered W to be perhaps the worst President in modern history (until NOW, that is), but I never hated them on a personal level (as I do the current occupant) .

As divisive a political figure as bush was, some trashing is to be expected.

In the Stan Lee thread there's are claims that he doesn't deserve credit for his co-creations. It's not all respect.

George's daddy Prescott Bush actually helped Hitler rise to power yet here we have people that get off calling anybody that disagrees with them a nazi praising a bush?!? Nonsense!

Good riddance. The world just got lighter.
