So Prince tried to convert Morris to the Jehovah's Witness proceeding removing the Time from the 7.7.20077 shows?

You mean “preceding” (before) he dropped them from the show? If so, WOW.

Chapter 25 pages 171-175

As Morris called it 'The Come-to-Jesus Talk. Morris was in the studio with Prince working on songs, and had 6 songs that were ready to be recorded for a new Time album. They were also talking about the Time opening for P on the next tour.

THEN they had the 'talk' and Morris wasn't down with and he split, didn't hear from P for years, then Morris got an invite to P's Bel Air 'rental' home (2005).

Still don't know what the reasons were behind P canceling the Time.

Seems as though Prince was hitting everyone up with the “come to Jesus” (or probably more specifically - JW) in the late 90’s to early 2000’s - Questlove talked about it, and Morris Hayes said he left for several years because of the religious talk. Prince also cancelled the Roadhouse Garden project in 1999 because Wendy and Lisa’s sexuality no longer fit into his belief system.
*
Really a bummer to think about some of the great projects/collaborations that were missed because of Prince’s hardline stance during that time.

Prince spoke to Morris about his faith... okay. But Prince obviously worked with musicians, singers, artists who weren't JWs right up to the end of his life.

Some of the things the author of The Beautiful Ones put in the book was Prince whispering in the authors ear while watching Morris, and I get the feeling P wasn't too hip on their show. I believe this was the last time Morris seen Prince.

Yes, per Morris, it was the last time he saw Prince. I didn’t get the impression that he didn’t like their show when he was whispering to Dan. My thought was that it was just Prince giving his new young friend tidbits of info while they were playing. Prince waited for Morris and hugged him and told him he loved him after that show, so I think he appreciated Morris and the guys being there at PP.

I think I heard that after the Time's show, both Prince and Morris were sitting in his 'little kitchen' in one of the booths and Prince said, at some point, "I love you" to Morris.

I heard he was dancing during the show.

I believe Morris stated he was walking around PP just after the show when Prince unexpectedly walked out of a dark hallway. He was clapping and said something like “you still got it” to Morris. They talked and then Prince hugged him and told him he loved him.

That is what Morris said on Jimmy Jam's radio show. He said they talked about an hour.

Everything in Prince’s life happened exactly as it was supposed to. Why would I want to hear the Revolution with him for a million years? If all this never happened we wouldn’t have gotten all the different genres of music we did and Prince wouldn’t have been able to mentor as many people as he did.
